Blackbird is a Dutch independent artist from Amsterdam, bursting onto the scene with cool and exciting retro pop sounds. With a powerful voice that recalls Nancy Sinatra, the natural-born performer sings and writes nostalgic tunes filled with vintage guitars and sizzling strings. Inspired by 70’s and 90’s rockin’ powerhouses like Stevie Nicks and Alanis Morissette, the artist dropped her successful debut EP (with four Dutch radio singles) ‘One Of The Wild Ones’ in May 2018. Blackbird released her self-titled debut album in March 2020, featuring the sassy tune ‘Tell Your Mama’. After being the opening act for musical heroes Sheryl Crow & Beth Hart and winning the Limburgse Popprijs 2021, Blackbird is about to go on tour again in March 2023, after releasing a new EP in February including ‘Green Lights’ and the new single ‘Built And Broken’ which earned her another NPO Radio 2 TopSong and ranked at #36 in the Dutch Airplay Charts.
