Synchronization income is becoming increasingly vital for artists, publishers, and labels. However, the methods for sourcing and matching music to specific needs have changed little since music was first used in visual media. At ESNS 24, a new tool called EMERGE was first publicly introduced. This groundbreaking AI-powered chat interface aims to help professionals find the music they need while promoting European music in a market dominated by Anglo-American influences.
Developed by ESNS and Soundcharts, with support of the Creative Innovation Lab - funded by the European Commission, EMERGE seeks to bridge the gap between the audio-visual and music sectors in Europe. It addresses the inequalities in the synchronization market, where some European countries thrive while others struggle to gain visibility. By using advanced technology, EMERGE fosters collaboration and sustainability in the European music ecosystem. The platform will connect European music directly with potential sync customers, such as TV and film producers, marketing agencies, and the gaming industry, showcasing the unique creativity of European artists on a global stage.
During ESNS 2025, EMERGE will have an alpha launch, allowing ESNS delegates exclusive access for testing and feedback. The full public launch is planned for January at ESNS 2026.
