IMPALA — the organization representing over 6,000 independent music companies across Europe — celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, ESNS will not only pay tribute to IMPALA’s impact and achievements, but also host a special keynote interview (or fireside chat, as she likes to call it) with IMPALA’s Executive Chair, Helen Smith, moderated by Music Week’s Ben Homewood.
Marking 25 years is both a moment to look back on key milestones and to reflect on the road ahead. The conversation will dive into some of today’s most pressing issues in the music industry — from concerns over Universal Music Group’s acquisition of independent music services company Downtown Music, which has already sparked heated debate in international media, to evolving discussions around streaming models, the rise of AI, copyright protection, and new dynamics with social media platforms.
Join Helen and Ben for an insightful and timely fireside chat about the future of independent music in Europe.
