How ESNS champions artistic vision

“The ESNS lineup showcases a vibrant representation of the richness and diversity of European live music,” says ESNS Program Director Robert Meijerink. "Each artist is handpicked by the ESNS curation team to present the best newcomers from the continent, from almost every European country. Many festivals reserve slots on their lineups for ESNS artists specifically, just to make sure that these last slots are booked with strong newcomers from all corners of Europe”.

ESNS Managing Director Anna van Nunen paints the big picture: “Starting a career as an artist is challenging. Rising touring costs and a market dominated by blockbusters make it increasingly difficult for emerging talent to break through. This is precisely why ESNS exists: to support diverse, emerging European talent. Their stories are often profoundly important, their artistic value immense, and it would be a loss to limit ourselves to only listening to the top 25 artists recommended by algorithms. It’s not just about predicting who will headline the big stages in a few years; it’s also about those other stories and sounds that are perfect for smaller venues or intimate settings. By doing so, we provide a platform for unique artists and celebrate musical diversity.”
