Craig Leon is an American-born producer, composer, and performer currently living in England. He’s known for producing gems of the 1970s and 80s New York underground rock scene like the Ramones, Suicide, and Blondie.

In later years he returned to his roots in classical music, working with Luciano Pavarotti, Joshua Bell, Sir James Galway, the London Chamber Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra among many others. Leon was also involved in providing music for major films, including 1917, The Karate Kid (both 1984 and 2010 versions), Ladies in Lavender, Sid and Nancy, and Revenge of the Nerds.

Leon writes and produces his own albums including Nommos (1981) and Visiting (1982), the first of which was released on John Fahey’s Takoma Records. Those two albums were reissued in 2014 via RVNG Intl. as Anthology of Interplanetary Folk Music Vol. 1, and Leon has since been performing these pieces live.

He also produced, performed, and conducted the album George Martin: The Classical Music and Film Scores, which celebrated the non-Beatles work of the legendary British musician. In 2019, Craig released Anthology of Interplanetary Folk Music Vol. 2 The Canonl. Vol. Nyphos completes the cycle and will be released in 2026.
