Kim David Bots is an artist and musician based in The Hague interested in fragmentary storytelling, the ways in which stories build and branch out over time and their ability to frame, fracture and infect reality. Kim’s work often starts from found or encountered sound, phrases, objects, images or spaces that give way to written, auditory, spacial or musical narratives. His work has been shown and performed at amongst others Stroom (Den Haag), Wiels (Brussels) and Eye Filmmuseum (Amsterdam). In his improvised musical performances he meanders through samples guided by a clarinet. Recently the record ‘Instrumental Romance’ was released by Amsterdam/Paris based label South of North. The work is loosely based around a CD Kim found in the river the Meuse in Maastricht together with his dogfriend Miemel.
