Mark Deuze is Professor of Media Studies at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, with several honorary appointments at universities in the US, UK, Australia, Portugal, Germany, and Russia. Publications of his work include 14 books, most recently “Well-Being and Creative Careers” (Intellect, 2025), “Happiness in Journalism” (co-edited, Sage, 2024), and "Life in Media" (MIT Press, 2023). His research and teaching focuses on media and everyday life, creative careers and management, media industries and production. He is also a band member of Skinflower, with a new album (titled “Kaduc”) out in 2024.
