During his student days (and for years afterwards) Michiel played in various bands. When his career as a musician no longer proved tenable -Michiel married a groupie- he opted for the Entertainment Law route once and for all. He has been working as a lawyer since 2001 and decided to assist artists and creatives (and therefore not the industry-side). Because of his background as a musician, he is able to give practical legal advice and understands the dynamics artists have to deal with. A couple of years ago Michiel co-founded b-kube music, a cooperative (music publishing) collective for i.a. songwriters. 'Bikube' is the Norwegian translation for 'beehive'. Affiliated songwriters can share in each others publishing results via the 'kube'. The kube is a 'honey pot' which fills up every year because b-kube music deposits 20% of its publishing income for the benefit of all songwriters in the beehive! A fair and cooperative approach!
