Niclas Molinder
ESNS: 2026
Co-founder, Music Rights Awareness
Niclas Molinder is a songwriter, music producer, and musician who now focuses on innovating data and rights management, always keeping music creators at the center. After twenty years writing and producing for artists such as Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Mary J. Blige, and The Jonas Brothers, and running his own publishing company RedFly Music, he shifted his attention to addressing the value gap in the music industry.

In 2014, Niclas founded Session Studio, the first independent global hub for authoritative pre-registration music metadata sourced directly from creators, together with Max Martin, Björn Ulvaeus (ABBA), and Avicii’s former manager Ash Pournouri. His vision is to set a global standard for identifying creators and their roles, ensuring proper credit and fair compensation.

In 2016, he co-founded the Music Rights Awareness Foundation with Martin and Ulvaeus, an apolitical organization dedicated to educating creators about their rights.

One of its key initiatives is Clip, a global rights-awareness platform developed with WIPO. Supported by creators, industry partners, and governments, Clip empowers creators worldwide with the knowledge needed to gain recognition and fair compensation.
