Birgitte Mandelid is a booker and head of marketing at Oslo's Øyafestivalen, where she started as a volunteer in the artist department more than twenty years ago. Since 2004 she has been a member of the festival's booking team, the last few years curating the electronic stage and also booking a chunk of local and foreign artists and bands playing other stages. She has a master's degree in media studies, has previously worked as a music critic and literature journalist for the Norwegian daily Dagbladet, and started her professional career in the music industry behind the counter at a record store.
