Bjorn is co-founder of boutique firm Plus One Legal and a dedicated entertainment lawyer specialized in intellectual property. Nicknamed “the nightlife lawyer” (“advocaat van de nacht”) by the former Night Mayor of Amsterdam. Bjorn wrote his thesis back in the days on the copyright protection of turntable art and argued on behalf of dance promotors before the Supreme Court of the Netherlands in a landmark case on the fair remuneration for playing commercial phonograms by DJs at dance events (and did play a white label Italo track before the Supreme Court while arguing). He is also one of the founders of the ‘Nightlife Clerks’, an informal network of like-minded professionals serving nightlife culture.
