Kate Lowes is Head of Programmes at Brighter Sound. Kate has worked in music for over 20 years in artist development, event production and more recently as a researcher. She has recently completed a PhD at the University of Manchester researching the gender gap in the British Music industry. Kate’s research is practice- based and connected to her development of the Both Sides Now initiative which runs across the North of England to support early career artists and industry leaders while campaigning for change with regards to equality in music.
