Kim Hoorweg (1992) is a producer/programmer/musician/activist based in Rotterdam NL. They play bass and do vocals for politically satirical and anti-patriarchal metalband VULVA, having played at Roadburn last year. Kim also organises an underground festival for heavy music and activism in Rotterdam called "Vulvaverse". Vulvaverse’s mission is to create an inclusive universe where marginalized artists, musicians, creators and speakers can showcase their talents and foster a space of learning and healing together with the audience through the collective love for heavy music. Through their programming (not only musically, but also through panel-talks and side-programs) Vulvaverse aims to provide valuable insights and practical information on subjects surrounding bodily autonomy; like abortion and contraception or trans healthcare in NL (last edition). In doing so, they want to open up the often scary conversation, making it less scary and more accessible. They currently also work at WORM Rotterdam as a producer.
