Matthieu Philibert is Director of Public Affairs at IMPALA – the European Association of Independent Music Companies – which he joined in 2011. On behalf of the independents, he takes part in EU discussions in Brussels on copyright, access to finance for cultural and creative SMEs, promoting cultural diversity and competition, among other issues. Matthieu was actively involved in the discussions that led to the adoption of the EU copyright directive in 2019.
