Murat Sezgi stepped into culture in 2003, collecting a bag at Istanbul Airport for an artist arriving for the Istanbul Film Festival. Many followed — Rock’n Coke, the Istanbul Biennial, Akbank Jazz Festival, U2, Cirque du Soleil, many more — and at Charmenko he closed the deal that brought Sónar from Barcelona to Istanbul. From Berlin he founded record labels, booked and promoted hundreds of shows, and co-founded XJAZZ, building it into an international format with editions from Istanbul to Minsk.

Since 2018 he has built 3dots, working where policy, ecosystem building and innovative finance meet in the cultural economy. His focus is how culture gets funded — properly, rather than perpetually rescued. In 2026 3dots launched the Culture Finance Standard, a measurement and finance framework for cultural value, the largest unmeasured category in sustainability finance.

He directs the Bozcaada Jazz Festival, in its 10th edition in 2026, with KEŞİF and the Jazz Camp for Girls, and founded Türkiye Caz Ağı. He lives in Berlin and works across TR and EU.
