Rita Zappador co-founded International Music and Arts in 1988 with a few collegues, all classical musicians. Being a classical pianist with liberal arts studies she started her career as agent in the area of classic management and classic cultural event promotion. Over the years she has expanded her range of activities from the classical to jazz, pop, rock, contemporary music, world music. She has worked with some of the most significant artists of our time, such as Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Philip Glass, Philip Glass Ensemble, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Laurie Anderson, Ornette Coleman, David Byrne, ANOHNI (fka as Antony and the Johnsons), Sinead O’Connor, Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson, Asaf Avidan, Kronos Quartet, Joan as Police Woman, Cocorosie, Emiliana Torrini, Sophie Auster, Harlem Gospel Choir and many others. Her characteristic is an unusual combination of booking, management, production management, art management skills whose range of activity covers Europe and the world, promoting international and italian artists' careers in many countries and continents.
