Meandering between folk, straightforward songwriter material and post-rock, Albert af Ekenstram is a special artist. In his solo work the Swede creates filmish melancholic music, enriched with grandiose arrangements, heartfelt voice and poignant lyricism. The power of Albert is to sound grand and intimate at the same time. His debut album Ashes came out in October on Kning Disk, drummer/keyboardist Filip Leyman took care of production like he did on Anna von Hausswolff's two latest albums.
