Amphitrio is a contemporary jazz trio from Bucharest, Romania, formed in 2023 by three musicians whose artistic paths merge classical precision, modern jazz sensibility, and alternative experimentation. The project’s essence lies in friendship, improvisation, and a shared search for freedom in sound. Amphitrio’s repertoire is built around original compositions by Andrei Petrache, exploring the meeting point between Nordic lyricism, Balkan rhythmicality, and modern jazz architecture. Their sound oscillates between spacious, cinematic textures and dynamic, groove-driven structures - an evolving dialogue between acoustic instruments and subtle electronic layers.
