Apes on Tapes is an electronic trio consisting of Joe Antani, Shapka and Dyami Young, that was formed in Bologna in 2005 and released debut album Foreplays the same year. More recently the band released their latest EP, Pitagora's Bitch, in July 2014 to critical acclaim for creating a bridge between hip-hop and electronic sounds. Apes on Tapes uses laptops, controllers, scratching, sequencers and MCs to create a heady combination of pop, beats, bright electronica and hip-hop.
