aYia is a nicely polished rock in your teacup'. The Icelandic group remains somewhat enigmatic, but eruptions of their electronic pop and dreamlike triphop have become more frequent recently. As John Rogers (The Reykjavik Grapevine) put it: "The band’s sudden appearance in 2016 felt like the arrival of a new entity more than the launch of a project by three individuals. It materialised quietly, as if out of nowhere, the faces behind the music shrouded beneath hoods and hidden in shadows.
