Sometimes, it's the most delicate things that are most powerful. This is certainly the case for Ciaran Lavery's raw alt-folk, stripped of any excessive embellishment to leave nothing but songs like pure, tender hearts. Lavery's ragged voice and skilful songwriting invite the listener into his own isolation, heavy-hearted yet comforting at the same time.
