Dog is Dead
ESNS: 2012
Big pop songs, wrapped in the trappings of art-rock, that is how Dog Is Dead's music has been described. The five piece band from British Nottingham already made a huge impression as an unsigned band. They even got to play Glastonbury. Just like Foals and Crystal Castles before them, Dog Is Dead was invited to appear in the final episode of TV series Skins, where the cast enthusiastically sang along with the lyrics "We are a mess. We are failures and we love it". After first two singles Glockenspiel Song and Young they were chased by A&R's. This fall, EP Your Childhood appeared on Atlantic. There are not enough songs for extended concerts. But when they are on stage, they leave a long lasting impression. The Guardian praised their professionalism and self-assurance after seeing a concert in London. A bright future was also predicted, but you don't have to be fortune-teller to predict that.
