A rising solo artist hailing from Copenhagen with a heavenly voice reminiscent of Beth Gibbons (Portishead) and a dreamy sound that incorporates techno, blues, triphop and folktronica. Ellis May is the alter ego of singer, composer, producer and sound designer Sophia Maj. Her songs are hyper-realism written in melodic bass lines and woven together with layers of sampled piano, drum machines, dreamy 'choir-scapes', gloomy synthesizers and immense vocal depth.
