It's all about the guitar for Frankie Chavez. The Portuguese has them in all shapes and sizes, and more importantly, in a range of different tunings. He loves to mix traditional Portuguese guitar music with American blues, which has led to references to Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson and Ry Cooder. However Frankie Chavez has a unique voice and guitar sound which give him his own place in the musical spectrum. Since 2012 he has been travelling the world, and Eurosonic in Groningen just had to be his latest destination, where he will perform in a duo format, with his drummer, Joca. Later down the road, 2013 will also bring us Frankie Chavez' second album.
