As befitting a band who take their name from the Maltese word for frenzy, ĠENN thrive amongst chaos. Their colourful history features robbery, legal disputes, long-distance collaborations, and three members relocating to Brighton from Malta. The six-song ‘Liminal’ EP sees the foursome contrasting searing post-punk missives with more allusive meditations cocooned in psychedelic textures. References include Baxter Drury, Metronomy, LCD Soundsystem, Captain Beefheart, and Warpaint. They are shrugging off their Riot Grrrl reputation, as they move in a more experimental and neo-psychedelic direction.
