Berlin band Gewalt condenses in the most radical language the impossibility and inescapability of human existence. This is the nucleus of Helen Henfling, Patrick Wagner, and Jasmin Rilke’s art. The sound and image is machine beats, clinking guitars, the din, the beauty of sonic pressure and the absence of any light, that pretty much sounds like industrial and noise. But, in fact Gewalt seem more interested in artists such as Daft Punk, Einstürzende Neubauten, Klaus Kinski or Pharrell Williams than more obvious soundalikes such as Ministry or Big Black.
