It's not hard to imagine that this British duo are big fans of Quincy Jones, the highly-rated producer who defined the sound of the 1980s through his work with Michael Jackson. Honne's sultry tunes are more lo-fi and rawly romantic, but the soulful underlying groove is instantly reminiscent of that golden age of music.
