James Emmanuel is a Nigerian-born, Edinburgh-based soul artist, with one of those voices that stops you in your tracks. After years of late-night singing in Edinburgh’s Jazz Bar, his remarkable journey has taken him to the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, touring with Nile Rodgers, and onto the BBC Radio 2 playlist. Blending timeless, big-hearted soul with the Nigerian and Scottish influences that have shaped his life, James writes deeply human songs about love, family, identity, home and finding your place in the world.
