You know you have made a great song when Brendan Benson likes to cover it during concerts of his band The Raconteurs and when 2 Many DJ's regularly play it in their sets. It happened to Floating of the Irish band Jape. The song dates from 2004, as a single of Jape's second album The Monkeys in the Zoo Have More Fun Than Me. The band of singer Richie Egan won the Choice Music Prize in 2008 for best Irish pop album, in this case their third album . Richie Egan is a craftsman in music. It can take some time before he finishes a song, but with result! The combination of rock, electro and Egans distinct singing defines Jape. The band performed at Glastonbury and Electric Picnic. But that is not all that Richie Egan does. He is still performing as a bass player in the instrumental rockband The Redneck Manifesto. He tried to surpass with Jape's fourth album Ocean Of Frequency. An accomplished mission. The album, with cited influences of Brian Eno and Caribou, is according to many an album that even after listening to it many times still doesn't reveal its secrets.
