Jeangu was born and raised in the tropical warmth of Paramaribo, Suriname. In 2014 he decided to continue his musical career in The Netherlands, where he started working together with producer/composer Perquisite. His soulfull debut album 'High On You’ that was released in 2017, was nominated for an Edison for 'Best Album’ and Jeangu and his band played at Lowlands, North Sea Jazz, Eurosonic and many more festivals, as well as becoming a frequent guest at popular tv-show ‘De Wereld Draait Door'. Jeangu’s second album ‘Horizon’ will be released next month and will be celebrated with a release show on February 7th in the big hall of Paradiso, Amsterdam, to be followed by club tours in both The Netherlands and Germany.
