Júlia Colom learned "El Cant de la Sibil·la" at seven, a centuries old traditional chant that is still transmitted from generation to generation in Mallorca. Then her grandfather infected her with his passion for tonadas: oral folk songs. Colom moved to Barcelona for vocal studies and deepened her knowledge of jazz improvisation, composition and musical production. Her first LP, ‘Miramar’, is a celebration of oral transmission, giving new meaning to a set of songs that are carried by her voice, electronic textures and the unmistakable Spanish guitar.
