Signing Greek producer/singer and multi-instrumentalist, Panagiotis Melidis (aka Larry Gus) to DFA Records was a daring decision from the American label. While his label peers make nu-disco tracks, the Milan based Gus focuses on grooves, seventies jazz and electronic sample pop. Such diversity is no surprise from someone who lists Albert Ayler, Black Dice and Creedence Clearwater Revival among his main influences. His latest record, Years Not Living is his first for DFA and it's safe to say that this guy likes to use samples - a lot of samples! After his record release, he toured the US as support of Cut Copy.
