Lass cleverly reconciles the centuries-old heritage of great African singers with contemporary Afropop stars. Senegalese by birth, the French artist studied music from a very young age, watching Omar Pene and Ismael Lo perform in Youssou Ndour's Dakar club. When he arrived in Lyon, he was on the verge of giving up music, but then Lass became one of the pillars of Voilaaa, the African funk and disco project by Patchworks, and started performing with electronic duo Synapson. He released his solo debut EP in 2021, and his first album ‘Bumayé’ followed in June 2022.
