If you tuned in to the BBC on October 18th to see Feist, Bon Iver or even Mastodon you may have been surprised by Lianne la Havas. With just her guitar and that wonderful voice she won the hearts of many. The British musician from London with Greek roots on her fathers side and Jamaican roots on mothers side started of in the school choir and some bands. Her own music on MySpace got her a manager and a record deal. The beautiful soul voice and personal lyrics made people say: "close your eyes and it might have been a younger, softer Erykah Badu." After performing at Jools Holland La Havas not only mesmerized many viewers also her colleagues were impressed. Bon Iver gave her a round of applause just for her soundcheck. Then lead man Justin Vernon invited her to support them on their North American tour in December. EP Lost & Found has just been released and now we wait for the debut album, in the meantime there is a show in Groningen we anxiously await.
