Martha Da'ro is a multi-disciplinary Belgian-Angolan artist whose creative career spans music, film and theatre. Her 2023 debut album, PHILOPHOBIA (meaning; fear of being loved), is an intensely cinematic experience, its atmosphere being an evocative sonic art installation. Musically it’s a haunting, avant-garde mix between moods and styles, from bastardized R&B to hypermodern electrosoul and a contemporary version of the blues. Da'ro aimed to compose an album where each track functions as a soundtrack and story, and the storytelling forms part of her live performances.
