Name the Pet is a producer who utilizes a wide range of techniques simultaneously, often starting with a beat-based foundation that she builds upon with acoustic instruments and recordings from outdoor environments. Her work often explores the passive experience of music, such as when we overhear it through someone else's headphones or from outside of a night club. The close collaboration with engineer  Linn Fijal imbues the productions with a hi-fi glow, yet the music's layers consistently incorporate numerous lo-fi elements. Hanna Brandén Gudve, born in 1986 in Gävle, Sweden, initiated the Name the Pet project in 2009 and has since composed and released three albums. Since the hype of her debut, Name the Pet has actively stayed away from the limelight, focusing primarily on developing her craft. Her most recent work involves composing music for the 2022 exhibition “Homecoming” by the artist Salad Hilowle.
