Neon Lies is the synthwave solo project of Goran Lautar, notable member of the thriving D.I.Y punk/post-punk scene from Zagreb, Croatia. Since 2016 he has been working on his solo project, exploring dark and melancholy synth themes alongside reworked atmospheres from the minimal wave movement. Currently touring to promote LP Demons (Wave Tension Records, Cosmic Brood Records, Periphylla/Diffuse Reality, 2024), Neon Lies brings a live set with backing tracks played entirely from 4-track analogue tape player, with vocals and synths intertwined into raw, direct sound, delivering an intense performance, suspended between claustrophobia and euphoria.
