Her Majesty Queen Máxima will open the 40th edition of ESNS. In a spectacular opening show featuring the German Theatre duo Siegfried & Joy, Ukrainian artist Alina Pash, Dutch band YĪN YĪN and Spanish singer Lia Kali, we will look back on the past 40 years through conversations, archive footage and contributions from, among others, former Pop Prize winners and European Commissioner Glenn Micallef.

With the manifest Europe Calling, ESNS also looks toward the future. The importance of this is highlighted by Vlad Yaremchuk, affiliated with the Atlas Festival in Ukraine and Music Saves Ukraine.

The opening will be hosted by Elten Kiene (host) and Anna van Nunen (Managing Director ESNS).
