Ralph de Jongh & The Crazy Hearts
ESNS: 2012
Harry Muskee (Cuby and the Blizzards), Bennie Jolink (Normaal) and Waylon. They all noticed the talent of Ralph de Jongh and offered him the chance to perform as a support act for their shows. Together with his band Crazy Hearts De Jongh makes music based on roots, soul, blues, southern rock and good old rock & roll. Inspired by his fathers Stones albums young Ralph practiced playing the guitar and singing. And so he developed a voice that gave the impression that a black soul was hidden in this blonde from Brabant. There are not many people who can create that kind of energy while sitting down. It helps of course that the Crazy Hearts are there to back him up, but as soon as De Jongh starts playing, there is no other way than to give all he's got. Like the late Harry Muskee said: "Ralph de Jongh plays with the conviction and a drive you hardly see nowadays, he immerses in the music and is above all a young man who dares not to take the easy way out: glitter, a quick success..., he chose however for a piece of culture in the way of the music by Robert Johnson, Son House, Elmore James and Muddy Waters."
