With their unconventional combination of clarinet, electronic beats and haunting vocals, you wouldn't expect the Icelandic band Samaris to be so young. But despite their age Þórður Kári Steinþórsson, Áslaug Rún Magnúsdóttir and Jófríður Ákadóttir have been around the block: they won three important music awards in Iceland and already performed in The Netherlands in 2011, at a Stage Europe Network event. Their mix of glacial electronics and bold beats mixes well with powerful vocals and lyrics gathered from nineteenth century Icelandic poems.
