Led by Franco-Syrian singer Climène Zarkan and guitarist Baptiste Ferrandis, Sarāb forges a path between post-punk chaos and Arabic poetry. After two albums and one EP blending jazz and global influences rooted in the rich musical heritage of the Middle East, the quintet returned in early 2026 with a devastating new record. On ‘Mīt Warde’ waves of raw rock and techno textures collide with politically charged lyrics and intimate, acoustic tributes to the victims of war. Live, Sarāb (‘mirage’ in Arabic) delivers raw energy: an incantatory voice, maqāmāt, analog synthesizers, and rhythms pushed to the breaking point.
