Singer, pianist and songwriter Marije van Rijn makes songs at the crossing point of pop and jazz. For years she has been making music with drummer Daan van Kasteren. At the conservatory of Rotterdam the two met with double bass player Caroline Kamp and guitar player Jorn ten Hoopen. Dutch radio stations of all sorts have been playing the songs of Scarlet Mae. A debut album is set to be released in 2012. With music you can file under Amy Winehouse or Caro Emerald it will probably will achieve some success. Although the music itself is a success already.
