SHAMROCK SHOWBAND are a psychedelic country and Irish band, hailing from the border counties of Louth, Monaghan and Donegal. With unequal parts Irish country & western, psychedelic, folk, and punk, the band pays homage to the Irish Showband era, a popular dance band format from the 1950s to the 1980s in Ireland. Showband repertoire included rock and roll, country and western, Dixieland jazz, big band tunes, Irish Céilí dances, Latin and folk. SHAMROCK SHOWBAND expands that sound by incorporating contemporary styles and sensibilities, such as psychedelia, old-timey Americana, punk, and political songs.
