Raised in the Netherlands, Shishani is a multi award-winning artist with roots in Namibia and Belgium who brings these worlds together in her music. With her quartet Namibian Tales she created a unique album and accompanying tour with the San communities (“Bushmen”) from the Kalahari Desert in Namibia. In 2019, she founded Miss Catharsis: an eclectic band that offers cutting edge songs by women of colour. Weaving together influences from their upbringing, these women tell mesmerizing stories through an experimental marriage of sound that transcends genres.
