Someday
ESNS: 2012
2008 is the year Someday was born. After a number of musical adventures in previous years, singer / guitarist Karim ter Veer and guitarist Woodrow Wegkamp decided to make a fresh start together. They choose to continue under the name that’s already been on Woodrow’s mind for a while: Someday. An accessible name with the beautiful meaning: "Ever". Although the band only consisted of Karim and Woodrow at that time, it provided the basis for a long cherished dream of the two gentlemen. Inspired by music from artists like John Mayer, Lenny Kravitz and Otis Redding they went into the studio and wrote the music that goes along with Someday. A fresh sound with lyrics that came naturally as they worked together on the perfect melody. They got the chance to write songs and record in Holger Schwedt’s Shamrock Studios by Holger Schwedt, who produced such artists as Van Velzen, Counting Crows and Anouk. But they also worked with the American singer-songwriter Nate Capmany, who was amongst others responsible for the hit So Incredible by Ilse DeLange. In early 2011, there are so many beautiful songs waiting to see the light  that the time is right for their band to expand further. Through auditions and contacts from the past, drummer Martin Kooymans, keyboardist Jeffrey van Rossum and bassist Nard Koeman joined the band. The time and energy that Karim and Woodrow invested in 'Someday' are now paying off ... June 2011 saw the release of their first single The Things We Say.
