Tercet Imperial heralds a new era, ending a period in which Polish music was dominated by groups that, in various ways, ‘polonized’ Anglo-Saxon sounds. The IDM trio from Warsaw focuses on local Polish themes, drawing strength from the rural traditions and folklore of the Polish heartland around Radom. They decouple the concept that archaic music requires instruments from the past. Tercet Imperial is about the polyrhythmic fire of electrified percussion, synthesizer sounds and timbres, and most importantly: the voice of Joanna Sztucka, skilled in folk dance and Radom's music.
