The Lanskies
ESNS: 2012
Yes, you have read it right, it says France, Normandy to be precise. You wouldn't think they come from France if you hear The Lanskies. That has got something to do with singer Lewis Evans who comes from Liverpool and whose voice resembles Robert Smith, not to mention his charismatic performance. A lot of comparisons are made with Franz Ferdinand, Foals and Interpol, because of The Lanskies' energetic modern postpunk, also called hotwave. 2010 was a very productive year for the band with the release of the album Bank Holiday and a tour in China. With 200 shows in four years the band has got a solid live reputation, having shared the stage with Foals, The Gossip and Pete Doherty. The Lanskies keep this high pace up in 2011 when EP Romeo is released and shows keep on coming.
