The Young Folk are a young Irish folk group, who released their debut album The Little Battle last year. In their own words, the band makes alternative folk music, with a range of instruments like guitar, piano, bass, drums, mandolin, banjo, trombone, melodica, xylophone and harmonica. Most of the songs on the album were written by singer/guitarist Anthony Furey, son of George Furey of the legendary Irish band The Furey Brothers. HOT PRESS describes the band as "serious challengers in the area populated by the likes of Fleet Foxes, Mumford and Sons and The Low Anthem."
