Vilma Jää is a Finnish singer, composer and fiddler whose work bridges classical music, Finnish and Finno-Ugric folklore, and contemporary pop and electronic music. Alongside her opera career, she has established herself as one of Finland’s most distinctive ethno-pop artists. Jää’s career as a recording artist draws heavily on Finnish folklore, traditional poetry and oral storytelling. She released her second album, ‘Loitsui ja taikoi’, in May 2026. Inspired by Finnish folk spells and incantations, the album combines ancient folklore with contemporary electronic pop, techno and acoustic folk.
