After releasing their debut album in 2012, Ylja took Iceland by storm playing dreamy indie/folk music featuring big, strong, multi-harmony vocals. The band was formed by guitarists/singers Gígja Skjaldardóttir and Bjartey Sveinsdóttir, who share a passion for vocal harmonies and love of the acoustic guitar. Lately, Ylja's sound has become a bit more electric and alternative, while still remaining loyal to their trademark dreamy vocal melodies and emotional live shows.
